Private cloud solutions provider Cloud Plus was founded by Jules Rumsey in 2010, with the goal of providing an easy solution for businesses in the IT space looking to transition to cloud services.

While cloud computing is ubiquitous today, eight years ago companies were finding it hard to wrap their heads around the emerging technology, and after selling his previous business, Rumsey could see an opportunity.

However, as with many businesses, the early days of Cloud Plus were the hardest, with Rumsey left wearing many hats while trying to be across all aspects of the business.

“In the case of Cloud Plus, I was investing a lot of money personally, I had very limited resources, I was wearing a lot of different hats and there was precious little time for sleep.

“It’s always hard when you’re in a sales meeting with a major new prospect and you have to excuse yourself to handle a support call.

“But when I look back on that period, and I see the partners and clients we have attracted and the team we are building as we continue to scale out, I feel really proud of our achievements to date.”

Cloud Plus has a team of 31 today, which has grown by 10 in the past 12 months thanks to the company’s impressive three-year growth of 55%. For Rumsey, the most important thing in business is to always have a business plan.

“And make sure you have the funding required to follow through on your business plan,” he says.
