Smart and Lasting award

National Crime Check founder Martin Lazarevic is no stranger to the Smart50, placing in the awards for the fourth year in a row this year.

The police check platform has been steadily climbing rungs of the top 50 list, from 47 in 2014, to 39 in 2015 and 21 in 2016, before hitting 17th place his year.

This steady rise up the ranks has been secured through National Crime Check’s 173.68% revenue growth over the past three years, with the business banking $11.27 million in revenue over the last 12 months, almost doubling its $6.7 million revenue turnover figure from last year.

Having launched with startup costs of less than $50,000, National Crime Check has grown into a multimillion-dollar business through providing services that allow businesses to obtain police checks for potential employees.

Last year, Lazarevic told SmartCompany he was in the process of adding a wider range of checks to the company’s offerings, such a bankruptcy and international police checks, and the business has now set the goal of processing police checks in the Asia Pacific region in the next 12 months.

In the future, Lazarevic also hopes to continue to expand National Crime Check’s business footprint by executing more integration opportunities and focusing on marketing scaleable business-to-business solutions to customers with high annual volumes of police check requests.
