Business: Yellloh

Age: Andy Crone, 25, Adrian Grayson-Widarsito and Jon Wellman, both 22

State: Victoria

Since Andy Crone and his co-founders at Yellloh started their social discussions platform earlier this year, they’ve raised $100,000 in seed capital and are enjoying weekly visitor growth of 9%.

Crone says they plan to keep Yellloh in early stage alpha testing for “a wee while” and are happy with its progress.

“We believe there’s massive potential,” he says.

“Right now the product is skin and bones. We’re testing the functionality.”

The idea for Yellloh came out of an education tool the team had been working on that allowed people to gather together on a forum to talk about study problems such as science and maths.

The team, which includes Adrian Grayson-Widarsito and Jon Wellman, both 22, have hired a full-time developer and moved from working in the back of a friend’s shop in the Melbourne suburb of Springvale to larger office space closer to the city in Oakleigh.

Crone says the new office puts the team in a better headspace with close access to cafes and bars and places where they can walk and talk.

“It just seems to have boosted our productivity,” he says.

“It makes it seem real.”

Yellloh aims to transcend social networks and create a new way of engaging online.

The team are preparing to fully launch the platform around mid-November and will begin focusing on growing user numbers.
