The VECCI Victoria Summit to be held on 15 November will focus on global warming and the need to manage carbon outputs and scarce water resources.
Economic changes because of globalisation and competition from low-cost economies will also be on the agenda. The affects on existing industries as agriculture, manufacturing and tourism, and establishing ways of improving their yield, as well as the possibilities for new technology-based industries, will be considered.
This year’s summit follows one held in 2005, and many of the recommendations from that summit have been accepted by Government and may soon be implemented.
VECCI is seeking the business community’s views and experiences on the key issues before the 2007 summit begins. Go to the VECCI website at www.vecci.org.au to fill in a short survey to take part.
