If you’ve ever sent an email after having a few drinks and wish you hadn’t, fear no more; Google has come to the rescue with its new tool, Mail Goggles.
The software application, available to Gmail users, requires the sender to solve five simple maths equations in under 60 seconds before the message is sent out. Users can dictate when the software is activated.
“Sometimes I send messages I shouldn’t send,” Gmail engineer Jon Perlow wrote on the company’s website.
“Like the time I told that girl I had a crush on her over text message. Or the time I sent that late night email to my ex-girlfriend that we should get back together.
“It will check that you’re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple maths problems after you click ‘send’ to verify you’re in the right state of mind?”
