Never fear a pet dying again – Sydney-based business PetMedics offers the first dedicated pet ambulance service, available 24/7 for emergency care or transport for pets.
Founded by Gareth O’Connor and Nicole George, the service started with the assistance of ENYA’s Microenterprise program. “Being on the minimum wage and a student meant I had no capital. With the significant help of ENYA we were able to access the start-up capital and business mentoring needed, and PetMedics was born,” says O’Connor.
O’Connor and George say they started the business out of their love for animals, and seek to provide an experience that is comfortable and stress free. Their “ambulance” is equipped with oxygen, temperature controls and a trained veterinary nurse.
“Whilst our friends are off drinking and wandering pubs and clubs, Nicole and I respond to Sydney’s pet ambulance needs,” O’Connor says.
