A marketing campaign created by the state of Queensland advertising “the best job in the world” has been hit with so much traffic that the site has crashed.
Queensland has advertised a job with a salary of $150,000 for an applicant to spend six months writing about living on the Great Barrier Reef – all expenses paid. The applicant must keep a blog of their experiences and fulfill duties such as feeding ocean fish, cleaning a pool and collective deliveries of mail.
But the job site has been hit with so many applications it has fallen under the weight of the traffic, with local media technicians saying the site just couldn’t cope.
The applications for the job have been dramatic, with one woman taking a video of herself receiving a tattoo displaying her love for the Great Barrier Reef.
Applications for the job close 22 February.
