Microsoft’s new Windows 7 Mobile series will not feature support for Adobe’s Flash software, while it will also not allow cut-and-paste features.
The lack of Flash support has been used as a criticism against Apple’s iPhone as well, although that device introduced copy-and-paste in an OS update last year.
However, it is understood that both Microsoft and Adobe are working on updates to the phone that could see Flash support in the future.
“One thing I wanted to clarify as it may have been lost in some of the other news is that Adobe and Microsoft are working together to bring Flash Player 10.1 to Internet Explorer Mobile on Windows Phone 7 Series,” Adobe developer relations manager Mike Chambers said in a blog post.
If the phone does introduce Flash, it could set it above the rival iPhone. Apple has said before it has no interest in bringing Flash support to its iPhone, and the upcoming iPad.
