The iPhone will receive one of most long-awaited updates this year with the addition of multi-tasking support, an AppleInsider rumour has suggested. It is understood the upcoming software development kit will enable developers to create applications which run in the background of other apps – something the iPhone has been lacking for some time.
Citing “people with a proven track record in predicting Apple’s technological advances”, the report claims the kit could see the addition of multitasking.
However, it also stated the feature has “quite a way to go”, indicating the kit may not be ready for a launch before a possible hardware update in June.
