Australian startup cashes in on concerts

A new Australian startup that helps consumers sell music tracks of their favourite artists is now helping those artists promote their concerts and shows.

Users register with the startup, “Posse”, and pick a number of gigs with tickets for sale, then add links to those concerts on MySpace and Facebook pages.

According to Springwise, they can also add links to their email signature, Twitter updates, or any personal website the user controls.

When other internet surfers click on an advertised link and buy a ticket to that particular concert, the Posse user then earns a 5% commission one fortnight after the event. When commissions are over $5, payments can be sent to a PayPal account.

While the service is only available to Australian users over 14 years of age, the startup says it is expanding overseas “very soon”.
