Viral marketing has become a popular way of advertising products with the rise of social media. Sites like YouTube, Facebook and MySpace have become havens for marketers looking to spread their message in a quick, efficient manner.

But a new California start-up is hoping to help other companies deal with the social networking maze by setting up viral marketing campaigns in a one-stop solution.

Wildfire offers technology in a web application that allows SMEs to create branded, interactive promotional materials and publish them on multiple social networking sites at a time.

Users use the promotions through a widget available within the social networks, and can invite friends to use the applications as well. The company’s customers already include Red Bull, Pepsi and even social networking giant Facebook.

While the service is currently free by invitation only, soon services will being to be charged at US99 cents per campaign.
