A drilling company that has been operating for 18 years has collapsed into voluntary administration.
Nedrill Blasting Contractors, which is based in the Northern Territory, has been providing drill and blast services to the mining and construction industries across Australia since 1998.
The business appointed external managers earlier this week, with Christopher Powell and Nicholas Gyss from DuncanPowell acting as joint administrators.
A creditors meeting is due to be held on March 8 in Darwin.
According to a notice published by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, an application to wind-up the company was filed on February 4.
Nedrill Blasting Contractors has completed work for large quarries in Western Australia, as well as undertaking small-scale blast services in the Northern Territory.
It’s clients have included BHP Billiton, Kimberley Quarries, Newcrest Mining and multinational construction company Boral, according to its website.
Nedrill Blasting Contractors was originally founded in South Australia but later relocated to Western Australia and then the Northern Territory.
Nedrill is one of a number of businesses linked to the mining sector that has fallen into financial trouble in recent times.
In January, a 20-year-old industrial abseiling company that provided services to the oil, gas and mining industries collapsed into voluntary administration.
A few months earlier an electrical contractor based in Western Australia appointed external managers after more than 30 years of operation.
SmartCompany contacted DuncanPowell but did not receive a response prior to publication.
