Thousands of NAB customers around Australia are still facing delays in having payments and transactions processed as the bank works through a backlog of transactions crated by a technical glitch on Wednesday night.
In a statement released this morning, NAB says the technical problem is fixed and transactions that were made on Wednesday night and should have hit bank accounts on Thursday morning – including the wages of thousands of workers around the country – have now been processed.
But the bank says a number of transactions that were scheduled to be made on Thursday have been caught up in the back log and are now delayed.
“We have commenced the processing of these delayed payments and transactions and they will continue to be progressively processed throughout the day,” the bank said in a short media statement.
However, bank representatives are telling customers that they are unable to provide a firm indication of exactly when delayed transactions will be processed today.
NAB is yet to reveal the precise nature of its technology problem.
