NAB has warned customers to expect delays in the processing of some payments and transactions after the bank was hit with technical problems overnight.
While the bank has not revealed the cause of the problem or the number of customers involved, it appears customers around the country are affected.
“NAB has been working as quickly as possible to rectify these issues and delayed payments and transactions have started to be progressively processed,” the company said in a statement.
“This will take some time and while we are hopeful all delayed payments will be able to be processed by later today we will provide further updates as things progress.”
The bank has also warned there could be delays for customers using NAB’s EFTPOS, ATM and other electronic banking facilities.
Not surprisingly, NAB says the problems have resulted in a “significant increase in traffic to NAB customer call centres”.
