Vodafone has admitted that it let customers down over the coverage and capacity it offers, and has promised to upgrade its network.
The company’s chief executive, Nigel Dews, told customers: “Your experience has not been what you were expecting from us … I am sorry for this and apologise personally and on behalf of everyone at Vodafone.”
Vodafone is facing a class action from disgruntled customers, including many businesses, over the standard of service it provides.
Apple set to unveil iPad2
The next generation of Apple’s iPad is set to be unveiled on 2 March, according to media reports.
The device, which has been given the working title iPad2, is expected to be launched at an event in San Francisco.
It is unclear whether Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs, who is on long-term leave, will attend the event.
Google faces new anti-trust claim
Google is facing claims from a French search engine which accuses it of anti-competitive behaviour.
The complaint, by 1plusV, follows similar anti-trust claims by price comparison site Foundem and legal search engine ejustice.fr. The European Commission is investigating the claims.

US stocks plunged following the unrest in Libya, with the Dow Jones industrial average falling 142.81 points to 12,248.44. The Australian dollar fell below parity, to 99.77 US cents.
