THE NEWS WRAP: Spain allays bailout fears

Samsung has resigned one of its tablet computers, following repeated legal challenges from Apple over intellectual property breaches.

 

A court banned sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany after a complaint from Apple that it looked too much like its iPad.

 

Samsung has changed the design of the tablet and moved the speakers in an attempt to re-start sales of the tablet. A legal challenge is also pending in Australia over the issue.

 

Spain allays bailout fears

 

Spain has stressed that it will not require a bailout, despite fears that the country could be the next major economy to be pulled into the European debt crisis.

 

The cost of borrowing has risen dramatically for Spain, but the country’s government insists that it will not follow Greece and require external assistance.

 

Winemaker takes out global award

 

A NSW winemaker has been named the world’s best for the second time in three years at an awards ceremony in London.

 

McGuigan Wines, which is based in the Hunter Valley, took out the award at the International Wine and Spirit Competition.
