WikiLiks founder claims enormous damage caused by rape charges

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has said the rape and molestation allegations voiced against him by Swedish prosecutors has caused him and his website “enormous” damage.

“Currently there are millions of websites around the world with the combination ‘Julian Assange and rape’ as a result of how the prosecutor initially handled the case,” Assange told the Swedish publication, Aftonbladet.

“The damage they have caused WikiLeaks and I is enormous,” he said.

Allegations were laid against Assange, but chief prosecutor Eva Finne then withdraw the charges. However, Assange says he is unaware of what the allegation is based on.

“We have requested to be informed of which details the prosecutor is basing her decision upon,” he said.

WikiLeaks published nearly 77,000 classified US military documents on the war in Afghanistan on July 23 and has said it will publish another 15,000 within the next couple of weeks.
