The US International Trade Commission will investigate tech giant Apple after handset manufacturer Nokia complained the company’s iPhones, iPods and Macs infringed on several patents.
In a statement, the USITC said the case will be assigned to one of its administrative law judges, who will hold an evidentiary hearing soon.
The target date for completing the investigation should be within 45 days, with rulings to take effect within 60 days unless they are disapproved.
Nokia has accused Apple of infringing several patents, with the company saying these appear in “virtually all of its mobile phones, portable music players and computers”.
However, Apple has said Nokia has infringed on several of its own patents as well.
