A former Apple worker has filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming it forces workers to put in overtime hours without appropriate compensation.
Kenyon Zahner claims he regularly worked over 40 hours per week at a Florida Apple Store but did not receive appropriate pay required by the state’s laws.
“The defendant knowingly had the plaintiff work off the clock and did not pay the plaintiff overtime,” Zahner’s attorneys state in court papers.
The attorneys say they are unable to give an exact record of overtime records because Apple has control of all paperwork involved. They are hoping to obtain damages on behalf of Zahner and other Apple employees.
Apple has not yet filed a response to the case.
