The Australian sharemarket posted modest gains as it neared the close today.
At 2pm, the ASX200 was up 0.26% to 4552.7, while the broader All Ordinaries index added 0.27% to 4576.9.
The Australian dollar edged slightly lower, buying $US1.03175.
