A slowing Chinese growth rate (7.6% in the second quarter, the lowest in three years) didn’t stop Australian shares from gaining ground today.
At 2.30pm, the ASX200 was up 0.58% to 4091.4, while the broader All Ordinaries index grew 0.5% to 4126.7.
The Australian dollar rose this afternoon, but didn’t make up its morning losses, buying $US1.01685.
