Hot desking saves the British taxpayer £62 million

Five hundred civil servants in the British Department for International Development are hot-desking, which will results in £62 million in savings, the London Evening Standard reports. The staff in the department spend a lot of time travelling, which means desks are often unused. The savings come from a moving to a smaller office, providing seven desks for every 10 staff, using laptops and cutting the use of paper.
