Thursday marks the first birthday of StartupSmart. It’s been a year in which not only plenty happened on the site, but also in the start-up community in general.
Numerous seed funds have launched, exciting new businesses have caught the eye of US investors and sweeping regulatory changes, from paid parental leave to the proposed carbon tax, have impacted promising young ventures.
Unfortunately, many start-ups struggle in their first year.
To help you through that vital first year, as well as to mark our own inaugural anniversary, we will share some invaluable advice throughout this week, starting today with the 10 milestones you should hit in your initial 12 months.
Elsewhere, we bring you news of what qualities “high impact” entrepreneurs have and mentor Reuben Buchanan explains how you should put together a company board.
