Pick up ideas with boot camp concept

We’ve all heard of fitness boot camps but what about dating boot camps? British entrepreneur Adam Lyons makes a living out of teaching down-on-their-luck men how to make it with the ladies. 

Lyons began researching successful pickup skills when he found himself unhappily single. His efforts paid off when he met his wife Amanda, and the couple have been married for four years.

The pair now runs UK company Pick Up Artist Training, holding boot camps all over Britain and the United States.

Lyons recently headed to Australia for the first time, holding a three-day boot camp in Sydney. 20 participants paid $1,300 each to spend the weekend with Lyons and five trainers.

Taking the participants on a tour of coffee shops and nightclubs, each participant was assessed on his ability to pick up and given a rundown on areas to improve in.

Armed with nothing but some old psychology notes from college, Lyons is now recognised as a pickup artist throughout the world and something of a guru when it comes to the law of attraction.

While this particular idea is not necessarily one to pursue, it does raise the question of whether the boot camp concept can be applied to other subjects.

For example, is there an opportunity to offer a crash course of sorts in cooking, dancing, public speaking or something else?
