Google Chrome have just released a new extension that makes searching the web just the little bit quicker and easier.
Aptly named “Highlight to Search”, the extension is very useful and once installed, really quite simple.
Basically the concept is as the name suggests: in any browser you highlight a word and a Google magnifying glass icon will appear. When you click on either the highlighted word or the magnifying glass, a search box will appear (complete with autocomplete) for the word you have highlighted. You can then quickly and easily Google-search the web for all the millions of possibilities related to that word, without having to even navigate away from the page you are on. This streamlines the search process and prevents confusion.
There is also an application for smart phones, which includes thousands of Google Chrome options.
