Apple boss Steve Jobs yesterday launched what is being touted as the world’s thinnest notebook – the MacBook Air.
Gizmag reports that the Air is 0.406 centimetres thick at its thinnest point and 1.93 centimetres at its thickest – that is pretty darn thin. It will cost $US1800 for the basic model, which is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors running at 1.6GHz or 1.8Ghz, a 13.3-inch display, five hours of battery life, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and a large trackpad.
It also comes standard with 2GB of memory, an 80GB hard drive, and best of all a fully backlit keyboard, which not only makes it easier to type in the dark but, more importantly, looks pretty cool.
Every MacBook Air comes with Apple faves including iLife ‘08, iMovie, latest operating system update Leopard and a new desktop organiser called Stacks.
The Air will be available in the US in two weeks. When will it be available in Australia? Who knows.
