Apple Watch orders in the US have levelled off to around 30,000 per day following a massive opening day spike, according to Slice Intelligence figures.
The figures, compiled from e-commerce email receipts and republished by Quartz, show Apple took around 1.5 million orders for its smartwatch on April 10, the first day the devices were available for order.
However, orders quickly dropped off, falling to around 80,000 orders on April 11 and just under 50,000 on April 12. Aside from a one-day spike on April 24, the first day the products shipped, there is not one single day on which orders have exceeded 40,000 since.
The figures also show on 16 days of the 38 days between April 11 and May 18 covered by the survey, Apple Watch sales across the US reached less than 20,000 units.
If sales continue at the current pace, excluding any increase in sales during the lead-up to Christmas, Apple is on track to sell somewhere between 7.3 million and 14.6 million of its watches this year.
