A new non-executive director appointed to the gambling company, Echo Entertainment Group, is a former Queensland public servant. Gerard Bradley will join the Echo board subject to regulatory approval.
Bradley is currently the chair of the Queensland Treasury Corporation, which provides the state government with financial risk management advice, and was for 14 years under-treasurer and under-secretary of the Queensland Treasury department.
In a statement, Echo chairman, John O’Neill, said: “With three of Echo’s properties in Queensland, Gerard’s experience with business and government in Queensland will make him an invaluable addition to the board.”
The Echo board has been embroiled in conflict with one of its major shareholders, James Packer, who owns Crown Casino, a competitor to Echo.
