The Australian sharmarket is slightly lower, with the S&P/ASX 200 down 24.7 points to 4872, or 0.5% at 2pm, after the Dow Jones lost 0.32% overnight.
The fall marks the end of the ASX’s 10-day winning streak, the longest since October 2003.
The falls were reflected in many widely-held stocks, though ANZ and the Commonwealth Bank bucked the trend.
