Samsung is planning on hosting launch events for a new smartphone simultaneously in North America and Europe in a bid to steal the thunder from an upcoming Apple iPhone announcement.
According to Korea IT News, the Korean tech giant plans to host simultaneous “unpack” events in New York and Berlin on September 4 to unveil a range of new devices, including the Galaxy Note 3 phablet and its Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
The German event is set to start at 19:00, with the New York event set to take place simultaneously at 13:00 in Times Square.
As SmartCompany reported yesterday, Samsung intends to display the new devices at the IFA, or Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin, which is one of the largest annual consumer electronics trade shows in Europe and runs from September 6 to September 11.
The launch comes as Apple reportedly gears up to unveil a new range of low-end and high-end iPhones on September 10.
