VIDEO: BlackBerry Q5 hands-on

Earlier this week, BlackBerry released its new low-end smartphone called the Q5.

Unfortunately, between a committee being formed to consider takeover options, the largest shareholder quitting the board of directors, speculation about a private equity firm linked to Dell buying the company, a Canadian investment guru and the Canadian Pension Board reportedly considering a takeover and declining marketshare figures, the news was slightly overshadowed.

Despite the less than optimal timing, the new device is a lower cost version of the company’s keyboard based Q10 smartphone and runs its new BlackBerry 10 platform.

So is it any good? Engadget takes a look.
