Telstra has announced the Australian release of the first 4G detachable ultrabook to use Windows 8, the Toshiba Portégé Z10t.
The device, which can be used as a tablet or docked with a keyboard, features an 11.6-inch display, an Intel i5 Celeron processor, Micro HDMI, USB, HDMI, USB 3.0, 4GB RAM and a 128GB solid state drive.
“The Portégé Z10t running on the Telstra Mobile Network is the perfect solution for people who don’t want to juggle multiple devices. The Portégé Z10t’s versatility as both a tablet and a powerful PC eliminates the compromises faced with other offerings in the market such as network speed, device performance and simply, the number of devices you need to carry,” says Toshiba Australia managing director Mark Whittard.
“Consumers are, more than ever, using technology interchangeably at work or at home, for business and pleasure, and often tablets or PCs can’t provide the functionality needed for each purpose. This is why we developed the Portégé Z10t – to eradicate the choices and compromises and offer one device to suit every need.”
However, the new device comes as speculation mounts that $200 laptops running Android could be just around the corner.
