Microsoft is working with component suppliers in Asia on testing its own smartphone design, according to reports.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company has begun testing a smartphone design with its component suppliers, but is yet to decide whether the new device will go into mass production.
The new smartphone is said to feature a 4- to 5-inch display and is similar in size to Apple’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S3.
The news comes after the release of Microsoft’s Surface tablet, which has seen the company expand into the computer hardware market.
