Android smartphone maker HTC has managed to achieve an unenviable feat, announcing a bigger sales decline during the third quarter than Nokia.
According to Mobot, despite new product releases, HTC only managed to sell seven million smartphones during the quarter. The figure represents a quarterly decline of 42%, compared to 38% for Nokia.
Total revenue for the quarter stood at $US2.4 billion, down 48% year-on-year and 23% from the second quarter.
The company managed to record a quarterly profit of $US167 million, representing a 76% year-on-year decline. During the same period, fellow Android smartphone maker Samsung recorded a record $US7.4 billion quarterly profit.
