Microsoft is planning on launching a new enterprise communications server and app system for Windows 8 in late October, according to reports.
According to ZDNet, the Lync 2013 system will include enterprise instant messaging, VOIP and conferencing.
The system comprises of the Lync Server 2013 software for Windows servers, as well as a client app for end-user devices.
Microsoft says the new software will be interoperable with its Skype service.
