Asus has announced that its 3G PadFone hybrid device will go on sale in Taiwan on April 20, however no launch date has been announced for Australia.
According to Android Community, the Taiwanese release will be followed by a mid-May release in Europe, with a 4G LTE version to follow in September.
Originally announced at the 2012 Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, the PadFone is a smartphone that can be docked in a 10.1 inch tablet device screen (the “PadFone Station”), which in turn can be docked in a laptop dock in a manner similar to the Asus Transformer.
The device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and features a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and either 16 or 32GB of internal storage.
