Apple’s new iPad is experiencing heating problems, according to users who took to blogs and discussion boards in the past few days to complain the new device overheats after extended periods of use.
This isn’t the first time Apple has experienced this problem. Earlier versions of the iPhone and iPad have experienced overheating issues.
Several bloggers have complained the new iPad is overheating after several hours, with the heat contained to the back panel. Some have speculated the heat is due to the more power-hungry components contained in the device, needed to power the high resolution screen and 4G LTE capability.
Apple has issued a response to the controversy, telling the All Things Digital blog that customers who are experiencing problems should contact AppleCare.
