Sprint wants $US2 billion from investors

American telecommunications group Sprint has announced it will be issuing another round of notes in both 2017 and 2020 in an attempt raise more than $US2 billion.

According to a statement released by the company, the notes will allow the business to upgrade its network, including building out its LTE operations, and help fund other partes of the busines.

“The company intends to use the net proceeds from the offering of the Notes for general corporate purposes, which may include, among other things, redemptions or service requirements of outstanding debt, network expansion and modernization and potential funding of Clearwire Corporation and its subsidiary Clearwire Communications LLC,” Sprint said. 

Sprint also said the “general corporate purposes” for which the notes are being issued could include redemptions or service requirements of outstanding debt.
