Music streaming service Spotify has surpassed more than 2.5 million paying subscribers, the company announced.
The confirmation comes after the business recently launched in the United States, and hired a sales representative for Australia and New Zealand, prompting speculation a local launch is coming soon.
“Of course, we’ll continue to focus on providing you with the best music service possible. We’ve got some exciting developments in the works, which we’ll share with you very soon,” the company said in a statement.
The service allows users to stream music to their desktop computers and to smartphones for an extra fee. It also recently announced integration with Facebook, which is believed to have improved its user base.
