Facebook has teamed up with electronics manufacturer HTC to make a smartphone that will run on a version of Android, All Things Digital has reported.
The new phone projected, codenamed “buffy”, is reportedly tweaked to feature Facebook integration deep into the system of the gadget.
It is understood the project is set to take between 12-18 months to get to market.
Previous reports have indicated Facebook has been working on a smartphone project, but so far the company has not confirmed anything.
