Shipments for panel displayers of the iPad 2 have returned to normal levels after manufacturer LG fixed a production issue, DigiTimes has reported.
The publication reports that according to sources, shipments had fallen to 2.5-2.6 million units in July, down from four million.
It was reported that this was due to a manufacturing problem with backlight units. As a result, Apple sourced more displays from Samsung and Chimei Innolux.
The number of iPad 2 shipments is reported to reach 12-15 million during the third quarter, although manufacturing has already reportedly begun for the iPad 3.
