Security company McAfee will launch a new iOS app designed to protect privacy and data for consumers if their gadget is stolen or compromised.
The company announced the new app over the weekend, as demand continues to grow for security solutions for Apple devices.
“We’ve been in mobile security for about 10 years, but we’re in a period of rapid change now,” Lianne Caetano McAfee director of product marketing for McAfee told VentureBeat. “Now we have a very heterogenous environment, and we have to make sure we work seamlessly.”
The WaveSecure app will allow users to backup information including contacts, photos and video files. Users will also be able to get their data back if they lose their device.
