Apple’s new iOS 5 software has only been available to developers for a day or two, but some have already managed to jailbreak the software.
Dev Team has posted on its website that the new iOS 5 software has been jailbroken, ensuring everyday users will be able to jailbreak the software when it launches later this year.
Jailbreaking occurs when users crack open the software on the iPhone to allow installations of apps that are not approved by the company.
Users often jailbreak software to access features Apple has not introduced yet, such as enhanced notification features and other types of media streaming. Jailbreaking also allows the user to install custom themes and personalise the appearance of their device.
