The photos that appear at the top of your Facebook page are a selection of what you have EVER uploaded onto your page. This could be…
- Images you have added to your wall posts
- Images you have put in your photo albums
The images that your “Likers” add to your page will NOT feature up there, nor will images associated with links you add (because you have added the link but not a standalone image).
So how can you get cool glamorous images such as I have on the Social Rabbit page? (Yes, I know not at all biased!)
Follow these instructions:
1. Decide on the look you want for your page photos, do you want to go funky or silly or corporate or informational, etc?
2. Check out the current images you have on your page – will they work for you?
3. If not you need to get some new ones created. The size of each small image is 97 pixels wide by 68 high. You can get them created this size, just be aware that if someone clicks on them your image is tiny on a black screen.
4. When you have decided on five images switch to using Facebook as your page and open each photo and tag yourself in each photo (there is blue text “tag yourself” at the bottom left of the photo once you click on it).
5. Voila you are done! You can’t unfortunately control what order the images are shown in, however you now will have those five at the top until you add another photo to your page.
If you do add more photos and they appear at the top of your page just scroll your mouse over the photo until you see a cross in the top right corner. Click on the cross and “Hide this photo”.
The photos that Facebook puts at the top of your wall are determined by how recent they are and if they are tagged. Don’t forget with any photo you upload make sure it has a description. If you’ve had a go I’ve love to see the results – pop the link to your page in the comments below.
