A new rumours suggests tech giant Apple may be preparing a new way of updating users’ iOS devices – over wireless connections.
Similar to the way Android devices are updated, Apple is reportedly planning a way for users to receive iOS updates through 3G and 4G connections. This would mean users don’t have to connect to iTunes in order to update their gadgets to the next version.
However, the report, published in 9to5Mac, suggests this update will only apply to the Verizon version of the iPhone.
But if this feature were to arrive on Verizon iPhones, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine Apple would eventually carry the benefit over to other networks, and other iOS devices such as the iPod Touch and iPad.
