Chip manufacturer Intel has launched a new range of Core vPro processors which allow users to find a computer by sending a text message through their phone.
The company announced the chips this week, saying they can be used in a variety of computers including laptops, desktops other devices. Several manufacturers have already said they’ll be using the chips.
“Providing the right combination of technologies at the right time, the new Intel Core vPro processor family continues Intel’s advancement in performance, security, and management,” vice president of Intel Architecture Group Rich Echevarria said in a statement.
The new chips include a type of anti-theft technology which allow a user to disable their computer if the device is stolen.
