Social networking giant Facebook has taken the unusual step of confirming that it won’t be shutting down any time soon.
The comment comes after a website posted a rumour that stated the site would shut down in March, with the rumour then spreading beyond the site onto Twitter as well.
The company was reportedly inundated with queries regarding the rumour, with users wanting to know whether the bad news was actually true.
“We didn’t get the memo about shutting down, so we’ll keep working away like always. We aren’t going anywhere; we’re just getting started,” Facebook said in a statement.
