Japanese billionaire Masayoshi Son has said the National Broadband Network is a waste of taxpayers’ money.
Speaking to The Australian, Son said the network was a stupid waste of taxpayers’ money and such a project shouldn’t be conducted by the Government.
“It’s a waste; it’s a stupid solution,” he said.
“Without using taxpayers’ money you can get 21st-century infrastructure.”
Son says he has his own method of delivering super-fast internet, which would allow fibre connections for just $15 a month. He also says this process, which would involve splitting Government entities, would be cheaper than the NBN.
