A man was arrested in Florida last night, after he allegedly broke a court order by sending his wife a Facebook friend request.
According to a report filed with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Harry Bruder is accused of contacting his estranged wife with two separate friend quests. The court found these requests violated a domestic violence order previously placed against Bruder.
As reported by The Smoking Gun, Bruder admitted he had sent the friend requests and said it was a “stupid” thing to do.
He also allegedly admitted changing the password to his wife’s email account, saying that he was frustrated after being ordered to attend counselling sessions.
The case comes after an Australian court last year found it was acceptable to deliver court documents via Facebook if no other contact could be made.
