Handset manufacturer Nokia is reportedly looking for a new chief executive, The Wall Street Journal has reported.
The search comes as current chief executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo is struggling to keep the company up-to-date with a number of high-end smartphones being released onto the market by rivals, including Google and Samsung.
Sources told the WSJ the company is looking for a new chief executive in order to develop a new mobile strategy.
“They are serious about making a change,” the source said, with a decision set to be made by the end of the month.
Kallasvuo has held the top job since 2006, and since then the company has continued to lose market share to rivals Apple and Google, with its Android mobile operating system.
